Chat Rhythm & Authentic Interaction

Here I’m going to talk about the naturalness of conversations. Since it can be conditioned by the tone and style, I tried to check if it is indeed responding to it, if the conversation gets too repetitive, or if it has a scripted feel to it, after a while, etc. Simply put, does it feel natural or not?

Mixed Signals and Natural Response

I had sent a mixed signal here at the beginning. I said don’t say anything, but I quickly decided to ask her what she was thinking about. It was a test of sorts to see how she would react to mixed signals or indecision.

She gave a very calm, natural response. Nothing too sexual. Talking about the snow. Talking about the environment. Talking about her husband. I like that she mentioned a husband.

It makes the character more real and not as sexual or porn-like. I also like that she turned it back around to me and asked me if I ski, which makes the response seem more natural.

Adjusting Tone and Testing Subtlety

For this one, I played around with tone. I said I wanted this to be more subtle and less flirtatious, just to see if she’d tone down the personality or if she’d just keep going with the same. She mostly toned it down. The tone was less in-your-face. It was still friendly, but it was much more subdued.

She played off the environment again, yapping away about the snowy retreat and having a good time. It felt less flirtatious and more conversational. I liked this because she didn’t go out of character, but she also acknowledged the requested tone shift.

That’s what I was looking for, whether the AI can change mid-conversation.

Testing for Immersion and Scene Setting

Now I switched it up and started with something broader and asked her about the “energy” over there. I was curious to see how she’d describe the scene and if she was capable of setting one on her own. She did alright.

Her reply was pretty immersive, noting the heat, the bubbles, her husband being there with her and the general warmth of the place. It seemed like she knows what’s going on around her and can establish a continued state of affairs.

More importantly, she managed to do this all while still maintaining a dialogue by turning it around and asking me about my energy as well. That’s what I was hoping to see when I devised this test, not just answers, but answers that would bring me back to the conversation.

Image Realism & Detail Analysis

I wanted to check how well it can generate images of the character. I tested simple, close up images, but also more complex ones, like full-body in different environments to see how well it generalizes.

I looked at the resolution, lighting, the ability to generate more images with similar quality, and whether the result looks good also when zoomed out, etc.

Full Body Style and Consistency

For this prompt I just wanted to test the overall full body look and see if the model could still look consistent after we remove the full focus from the face.

I put the model in winter clothes, a snowy alpine village, and it passed with flying colors. The proportions were good, the clothes looked right, and the image didn’t disintegrate like some do when you zoom out.

Snowy Mountain Close-Up

Here I just wanted to test how well the model did when it was a close-up and had to generate facial features and lighting. I generated this image of her hanging out in the snowy mountains.

The very first thing I noticed was just how crisp the image was. The skin tones were sharp, the hair texture was sharp, the background blur was sharp. It looked natural, like something you’d find on Instagram.

AI Video Generation Review

Here I’m going to talk about motion. Motion can be tricky because even if the character looks real in one frame, it may look terrible once it starts moving. I checked how natural the motion feels and whether the overall look stays real throughout the video. Things like maintaining eye contact, using gestures, etc. are all important.

Testing Motion and Realism and Naturalness

I tried to see how well the AI could animate the character. In this video, the AI generated Amelia is in a snowy outdoor jacuzzi, and subtly moving while looking at the camera. The motions are slight, a little head movement, a little posture, but that was what I was testing.

The thing that struck me was how natural it seemed. The motion was not exaggerated, or artificial, but more like someone making a video while on vacation. I was really testing to see if the illusion would be broken by animation, and to be honest, it wasn’t broken as much as I thought.
